If you have never been to Spain then you might want to consider a holiday in the winter. If so, then Spain is definitely a good choice as you can truly experience something new when you are surrounded by snow for the first time! When it comes to Spain, vacations in winter are often very different from those of other seasons. In summertime Spain tends to be dry, hot, and very hot in many parts. This means that tourists (and locals) often pack down and go back to their regular life within just a few days. During the winter months, there is generally less rainfall so temperatures remain consistently cold.
The best time to go Spain is usually in spring (March to April) or in the fall (November to December). During these colder months, you will be able to find cheaper hotel prices, fewer crowds, and even the absolute best weather (again, even for hitting the beach!) However, the summer months offer bright sunny days and wonderful beaches so even if you decide to travel to Spain in winter, crowds aren't always your primary concern.
In general, the cost of traveling to Spain in winter is lower than in the summer months due to less rainfall. The most common months when Spain experiences warm weather are September, October, November, and December. Travel within Spain during this time period is much more budget friendly because the weather remains pleasant for much of the year. For example, travel throughout Spain in September is usually the most expensive time of the year as the whole of Spain experiences a heat wave during this period.
